Oppression and Genocide in Brave New World and The Gulag Archipelago

The literary analysis essay should compare the works The Gulag Archipelago by Alexander Solzhenitsyn and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley from multiple perspectives including overall tone, word choice, connotations, motifs, point of view, character development, and context. Oppression and Genocide must be the overarching theme, and the essay should describe in detail how each author approaches this theme. The finished work should consist of 5-10 complete paragraphs including an introduction and a conclusion. It must contain a minimum of 5 quotations drawn from both books and 3 citations of selected secondary sources. While using the sources listed in the uploaded documents is preferred, please do not directly copy and paste the explanations/analysis in the docs. All citations are to be in MLA format. Also, please do NOT include any irrelevant/unsourced quotes (for instance, please do not use a quote from 1984). This is a formal literary paper, so it should be written in a professional tone and an objective, third-person view. Phrases such as “I think” should be avoided.
